I am just curious as to what fuel the GEN 3 motors should be run on. They say to use unleaded fuel but is it better to use premium or optimax etc and what are the benefits???
I have a VY ss Series 2 2004.

go with Premium. They say you get more bang for your buck. Higher octane means more power and less chance of pinging and the like. You will also notice a better fuel economy.

The Gen3 has 2 spark/fuel tables in the computer, one for 98 octane and one for 91 octane (assuming it is not an HSV or has not had LS1 Edit applied...)

The computer will always try to run the 98 octane settings but will pull timing out of the motor as
