Guys Just after a bit of info on these. I've just bought a crank that has been offset ground to SJ Chev size. I already have a VL block that used to run as a 308-327 stroker. It has rod reliefs, 0.020" decked to suit stock 350 pistons etc. Does anyone know what I need to do to the SJ rods? I know that the 350 pistons will fit on the little ends, but do they need relieving on the sides? Also I've got a few sets of SJ rods. Most are 265/283 but there are a couple of sets of rods that came out of an early 327. These have a chamfer on the pad on the rod cap. Are these the so called SJ 'fuellie' rods? I may even end up using SCAT rods, as these are only about $400 ready to go. I still have a bit of machine work to do, including converting the block from Holden to Chev pattern, and grinding the rear main seal journal from rope to neoprene (block has been converted). Does anyone know a reliable but affordable place to buy engine parts. Street machine used to be full of VPW, Eagle, SSS etc ads years ago, but not anymore. I need 350 + 0.040" dish tops, SJ 0.020 big ends, full gasket set etc. |
