Just thought I'd let those people know who live in (Northern) Tasmania, we have the crusher in and start crushing 300 cars as from tomorrow. So...if you are after anything for an older car (all makes), take a trip to Steve Orders Autos, 67 Remount Road, Mowbray (63 26-1807) ASAP or become one of those people we have to tell "yeah, we had one of those, but the car was crushed yesterday!!!" It happens every year :-( Quite a few Holdens and Commodores are in the line including, utes, vans, s/wagons as well as sedans. Don't ask me if we have anything in particular on the forum.....best idea is to give us a ring, and we will let you know what's left. |

It's Australias heritage and vintage cars of the future being sent to China to make toasters there should be some law against it except for absolute wrecks. They pay 40 or $50 tonne, and a friend in the scrap business tells me they get $300 tonne so they

Sorry, no. If there was, it would have found a home with me :-) I have saved from the crusher a good WB subframe though. |

....which I would happily crush, Mick.
John...They may get $300 a tonne, but then it costs a lot to bring in the crusher, front end loader, a few semi's and add in transportation costs and storage. Also it takes a few days to go through 300 odd cars, s |

Rather have an empty beer can to sniff the fumes than a Daewoo.
