Hi Guys,
I have a VL that may be retiring from daily duties soon (body getting rusty) and was hoping to use some of it's parts in my HK.
I'm thinking of fitting rack and pinion steering to the hk and i know the early commodore manual racks are popular. However, i have a VL power system, can this still be used? Can the pump be easily mounted? The steering column...should I bother?
Also I have a HT front end (70ute) I know to be in good condition, will it bolt straight in to the HK? Could/should i still use the different offset HK wheels?
I'd like to fit the bucket seats too as i've always found vb-vl seats very comfy, anyone put these into a HKTG before? I know how the floor mounts need to be done but any further tips/help appreciated...Cheers, Elton.

Hi Elton,

I seem to recall reading somewhere that it is much more difficult to cut down a power rack than a manual and that the rack makes the steering so light in an early that you don't need power steer anyway...

Cheers...Dave
