Downdraught Carby Info wanted for 4cyl Torrie

Guys, chasing soem inof on the 4cyl Torana carbies, I need to see what models had the downdraught carbys on 1200 engines?? I thought it was HB but have been told they were side draught. Matt

Hi Matt.
The base model 1200 (1159) motor had a downdraught carby. The series 70 & Brabham both used sidedraughts (2 on a Brabham).
Also in LJ the 1300 motor had a similar downdraught carby.
They can be either Solex or Zenith, they are very simil |
If at first you don't succeed, just call it Version 1.0 |

Thanks Dr Terry, I would love any info you can on these carby's, Especailly the SOLEX branded ones, I have been told these were also used on some of the european cars (Fiat etc) as well, but not too sure what to be looking for!
