G'day all,
I have anew set of front springs(1-1/2"lowered)for the tonner and a new set of bushes for the front end, and would like some advice on how long it will take one person to complete the job, I know how to do it and have helped my Dad do it a few times years ago, but have never done the whole job by myself, and as its a work vehicle I need it to be on the road by Monday, and I am doing it next Sunday, but only have fron midday onwards, is this enough time? or should I wait till I have a whole day? (unfortunately that wont happen for another 4 weeks or so)any advice appreciated. Thanks. Russ.

Unless you have the bushes already fitted to suspension arms, all tools and equipment ready and a fine day, forget it until you have a whole weekend mate.

Even with all the above, you will need most (or all) of a day and another hour or so

Hi Russ,

Absolutely mate...the current bushes will have crushed in certain directions whereas the new ones will be pretty well centred. This WILL throw your wheel alignment out (maybe by a lot if your bushes are really knackered).

When I had the new

You don't need to press the old ones out just burn them out. Use a blowtorch or something be careful with oxy not to overheat the steel. Once the rubber has caught fire it will burn on its own, takes about 20 minutes to burn out each one. You could set al

Actually you should not heat the control arms in any way shape or form... Heating any suspension part or steering part is not recommended. If you set the press up exactly square they should pop out nicely....if the part is even slightly skew you will on
