I am considering installing a Chev and Turbo350/400 into a 6 cylinder body. Has anyone had any success modifying the trimatic shifter and console to suit the Turbo without butchering anything, and will the trans fit the floorpan? Will any of the standard driveshaft and crossmembers work?
Thanks, Tom

The TH350 is designed to fit where a Saginaw/Muncie/Powerglide fits. It will use the same tailshaft as a V8 Saginaw, powerglide or all syncro 3-speed. It should fit on the same X-member as a HT/G V8 powerglide too, plus the speedo cable should also fit -

AFAIK the t350 should fit, but the t400 may require a bit of bashing...a trimatic will also fit the same tailshaft Byron mentioned.

The floorpans are the same right through, except the Saginaw fitted versions have the hump to clear the shifter linkages. The powerglide doesn't need the clearance, hence the TH350 should be fine. If the car you have was originally a column shift, you nee
