Hi,

We've replaced the tired 1.1million km donk in our ex-taxi with a 78,000km donk. Is there anyway to reset the speedo on the '98 EL to match the original kilometres.

Thanks.

Tony

as per other posts about similar this is illegal and can result in major fines if detected.

Ultimately if can be reset it would re-zero then you would have to 'wind on' k's to match but penalty not worth the effort.

Seems strange that a speedo cannot be wound back, in the case of engine replacement, considering that when a potential buyer asks how many K's the car has done, he/she is referring to the engine, not the headlights, body panels, seats, steering wheele etc

If you were to allow it in the instance referred to by ELFORD how would a buyer then know for certain that the seller hadn,t just wound it back and just said that that's all that was on it. How would the buyer even know that it was a true representation

how many k's are on the clock does not only relate to the engine. It gives information about everything from major things like the diff and transmission, to smaller things ball joints and steering racks.

Its completely illegal, for this rason. Take no
