Congrats on a great site, just stumbled over it browsing! great info especially for the uneducated such as myself. Anyway enough smoke, here is my dilema!
Being 16 and wanting to get my licence in my own modified Old Holden, I have just made my first attempt at updating my EJ, I have put a trimatic and T-bar shift, behind the grey motor, and as a mechanical novice, didnt do tooooo badly! BUT, after connecting all up and dropping it off the stands, fired it up and went to drive off but I have no drive?? everything is connected, it seems like it thinks about wanting to drive but only under high engine revs? is there something basic I might have missed? maybe torque converter? any ideas would be great! Dan

Hi just thought I would ask the question, does the torque converter fill with fluid from the gearbox or does it need to be manually filled prior to instillation??

Sorry if you get this twice but I typed it up & then it vanished.
Any way the torque converter fills from the transmission when you start the engine fluid is pumped into the converter.
What has probably happened is that you put the trans in, fil |

Incidentally you check the transmission oil level with the motor running. If you don't have the motor running the level will be wrong. it holds a LOT of oil.
