I have an 95 ef falcon GLi sedan, that has an intermittant miss, it feels like the engine stops for just a fraction of a second, there does not appear to be any consistant set of events to bring up the error, except under load in too high a gear going up a hill at a crawl the car will miss consistanly other wise the car can be cold or hot, I have spent a small fortune on this car in the past 2 months, I personally thought it was dirty petrol and so far I have had fuel filter replaced three times, the fuel tank drained and cleaned, a new fuel pump put in, the plugs and leads replaced, coils checked, car tuned, including 2 computer diagnostics tests run, all not fixing whatever it is. The car can run all day without a miss and then miss for half an hour then it goes away? the fuel tank can be full or near empty, going up a hill or down a hill normally, as an example we went to Launceston yesterday and it missed every 5 minutes or so for about 3o klms then went away for the next 60 klms, ran fine around the city most of the day, but on the way home at a hiway cruising speed of 110 kph for the first 40klms or so it was okay, then for 15klm it missed again, so on and so on ........... perhaps there is a wire shorting out somewhere? that is about all I can come up with now so any suggestions would be great..... len_lin at hotmail.com

does the car run on duel fuel. it sounds like it could be a flat spot in the carby or a sticky valve. but i would have to hear or test drive to say what it could be but that could be it. does it miss fire when u start it if thats the case your timing is o

Chalk up another on the inlet gasket. My EL was doing exactly the same thing.

Yep. Sounds like the coil kit is in order. Just had my EF done as it had the same symptoms and it's dual fuel. Now runs much better. Just need to get rid of the ABS light.

Check the low voltage connections to the coil - must be tight!. Might have to do it over a pit or on a hoist. They can give intermittant connection when warm & are a mongrel to get at.
