I noticed Bob Jane "giving" away $50 petrol if you buy 4 tyres. I'd just about need all that to drive the 8 or 9 k's home after getting the tyres.

Until the "high rollers" in parliament realise exactly what they are doing, we'll only keep seeing a rise! I think its about time the government stopped taxing and started giving...
Without doubt we're gonna see more people "hit-and-run" when it comes

I'm loving LPG at the moment - 42c/L vs $1.40 for ULP. Even if my ute gets about 10mpg, I still don't care. $30 a week. Laughing. I notice some of you are blaming John Howard. That's a bit rough. Although he has involved us all in Iraq, the USA were goin |

The problem with fuel excise is the follow on effect. At $2.00/ltr you will want more pay, we all will want more pay. Our bosses will say less staff. So no job. We stop going shopping or buying stuff too. We sell our houses or cars, home prices tumble. Sh

Ok, so maybe its not primarily John Howards fault, but it pi$$es me off that all he says is "Its out of our control" when in fact it isnt. All they need to do is become friends with our major oil suppliers again, and we'll be back to the days of 70c/l!!

I was all set to buy a V2 Monaro for my better half to drive, to replace the Excel. However she will be doing almost all city driving, and I know what my VY SS ute was like on fuel, at 90c/L. That's been canned for now. She may end up with a C180 Kompress |

I filled up with LPG this morning at 45.9CPL I also put in $5 worth of ULP. What a shock I got when I saw that I'd only gotten 3.58 litres for my $5 then I saw why .....139.7CPL.
The Canberra Times showed a photo of two Customlines filling up in 197 |

But is it possible that LPG gas will get expensive if every one starts to use it. And is there a possibility that it may run out. Do they get LPG from the ground.

LPG is cheap as it has little excise on it. LPG comes from the manufacture of petroleum, and hence yes it can run out just like petrol. |

Speeding fines go to your State Govt., not Federal. I'm not defending the Commonwealth Govt. but if excise was dropped, everyone's taxes would go up. Or GST would increase. Or something else to compensate. $ to run the country have to come from somewhere, |

You're right Byron, that's why I'm staying with a 186 in my HK...i’m already considering gas for when I get her on the road again, unless it suddenly gets expensive too… The whole problem of high oil prices for wealthier nations like Australia stems fr Edited by user Friday, 9 September 2005 11:42:46 AM(UTC)
