Well, I'm sure we've all done stupid things in our time that have ended up in damaged vehicles.
My latest effort was just last night. It was a very windy night here in Adelaide and I was sitting inside when I heard this almighty crash.
I already knew what it was and what it had hit and it was hard to bring myself to go outside and have a look.
On Sunday I had just finished applying the second coat of epoxy floor sealer to my new shed and I had left the shed door open in order to let it air and hopefully dry a bit quicker. As I didn't want my dog to leave little doggy prints in the new floor from one end to the other, I had placed a long sheet of corrugated iron across the opening in order to keep him out.
Yes, you guessed it. The big crash was the wind picking up this sheet of iron and slamming it in to the front of my HQ GTS.
As soon as I walked outside I could see the damage on the left side of the nose cone. Plenty of paint removed. As I was looking at it my housemate commented that it was surprising that it hit that side because of the angle the car was parked on. He seemed to think it would have been more likely to hit the other side.
Yes, you guessed it. Walked around the other side and it had copped similar treatment but with even more paint removed.
This sheet of iron had somehow blown straight toward the front of the car and wrapped itself around the front end damaging both corners of the nose cone.
Not happy Jan!!!!!
It could have been a lot worse I guess. It could have landed on the bonnet or roof. As it was there was no other damage.
Has anyone else got any stories of silly things they've done which has resulted in damage to a pride and joy.
I have a few more but I'll add them at a later date.

My main carport (under the main roof and the only flat area I have to work on the Qute as my house is on the escarpment east of Perth) is a single width, but 2½ car lengths long. The rear car length opens up onto my back patio on the driver

I finished rotating the tyres & moved the trolley jack out from under the car. Had it sitting with the handle up vertically, and it fell backwards - belting a nice dent in the chrome door strip on the LHR door of the VH... A few mm higher and it would h |

Well this one is not really about stupidity but I did feel stupid after doing it.
I was working a night shift and had just dropped off the truck at the depot and gotten in my car to go home. My daily driver at that time was an 83 Camira. (don't start
