hey people, just after some info on this cary, i have to put one on my hx ute (253) and some of the linkages arnt right, the accelerator cable and the idle solenoid, the problem is the solenoid doesnt touch the the thing it makes stay on, if that makes sense, any diagrams of photos of how it should look would be very helpful

Sam,

I know HQ & HJ Stommies well. Are u sure its a Strommie with a solenoid ? Sounds like a Quad. Only 1 big butterfly choke not 1 smaller butterfly and 2 open throats on this thing ? Doesnt say Rochester anywhere does it ? I am confused.

HX and HZ Strombergs have an anti-dieseling solenoid like a Quadrajet.

yeah thats it then, went to rares today in my travels and they said forget it , reckons its the wrong linkage and just dont put it on, is that alright?
