Does anyone know if the later versions of the Gen 111 engine have overcome the piston slap / oil use problems of the earlier ones. I am considering buying VY SS but don't want to if the problem still exists

The VY's are less likely to have these problems than the earlier versions, but the VY2 is even better.

My VY2 Gen3 uses about ½ - ¾ of a litre of oil every 10,000k's running aorund town (even though it sees 6,300 rpm at least once a day). However, if I

i had a 1999 vt ss series 2 gen 111,it used oil,im pretty sure some of the earlier ones uesd oil.
