any one know how to fix a sticky lifter on an ea wagon? can't really afford mechanic, so will need the cheapest option. just had service and tune, told it would be $160 more for the lifter.

Many years ago when I was driving fords I had a sticky lifter in my 351. Got hold of a bottle of Wynn's Charge. Stopped it almost right away. I don't think they make it any more but if you check your local Repco or Bursons, they may be

like what blue HJ said go to Bursons and they have some stuff called lifter stop.... or else try using a thicker oil supposedly there is an oil from valvoline that is pretty thick and helps stop or quiten down the lifter noise
