i just replied to a post about carbies, and refered to my first car.
VC SLE 253 Trimatic.
i really miss that car.
i was short of money, about to move (joined the Army) so i sold her for $6000, with a smashed front end.
i spent around $20,000 on that baby, over 3 years.
Rebiult engine to bullet proof 4.9 stroker standard.
$4500 on the trimatic.
MSD super coil, MOTEC ignition computer.
twin 3 inch exhaust.
Modified edelbrock highrise manifold.
etc etc.

ps...no brake or suspension mods (crazy now i look back.)

ran consitent 13.4's

just wondering what everyone else's first loves were?
do you still have them?

My first on road car was a Mark l Zephyr.
I wanted a single spinner Customline, but couldn't afford one, so had to settle for the Zephyr.
Got a lot of fun out of that car until a mate suggested we put new pistons & rings in to boost the compression.

First car = 850 mini. Outrageous fun
First holden = Sunbird with 1900 starfire POS engine (which would actually run with the distributor cap on backwards). Replaced engine with 202, and it was stolen two days later.
First enjoyable Holden = 1974 LS Mon

I had two first cars. Absolute first was a HQ Belmont van - 202, 3 speed, 4 wheel drums. I bought it when I was 15 and worked on it. It wasn't finished come licence time so I bought a $1000 HQ Deville, which was my first drive car. The Statesman was sold

Leith,

I've got a friend that says a 200B is just a 180B with 20 extra faults.

My first car was a 1966 Mark 1 Cortina.
