Did a work colleague contact you today in regard to supercharged V6's?

If not, his querie is: Is there any difference in the bottom ends of non-supercharged V6's to supercharged V6's.
Apparently he has a supercharged V6 to rebuild, and he wants to know if he can use a "standard" V6 engine of the same model vehicle?

Are the pistons the same, or do supercharged V6's use a different conrod/crank/piston to lower the compression?

Any other info on differences between supercharged and non-supercharged (apart from the heads, inlet manifold)?

im not the "nut" but as far as i know, the crank, pistons and rods are different(not sure exactly what.)
i have been told that the bearings are the same, but conflicting arguments over the main bearings.
there is definately difference's between the two,

Nah mate, no-one tried to contact me today (email or phone).

I'm not 100% up on the super 6 motor. Just did a conversion putting one in a VS exec wagon, so I compared all the top end differences, but not the bottom.

I think he'd be better off retai
Cheers,

Mick

My cousin works at Holden and reckons the conrods are stockers, but shotpeened, the pistons and crank are different.
even he isn't sure about the main bearings.
will check tommorow.
