As far as i know there was no such thing as a 48-215 special, however i have a guy insisting that he has one, and it has some goodies on it that i wont have seen before. such as chrome stars along the side of the bonnet, can anyone confirm if these things did actually exist? and if so what chrome goodies can i expect it to have?

Hi Les,
Others will know more than me on the very early models but, AFAIK, the 48-215 only came in standard and Business sedan versions. The Special arrived with the FJ (or during its run anyway).
Cheers...Dave

Forgot...I have seen the chrome stars along the bonnets of 48-215 and FJ cars. I think they were a NASCO accessory.
Cheers...Dave

Les, the FJ Special was the only one to carry chrome strips also the "stars" were after market and not Nasco. There were NO FX Specials.

Hi Guys.
The code 215 means standard, if it was a Special the code would be 225.
There are no 48-225s !!.

As mentioned by all else, look at the body ID plate on the firewall, it WILL have 48-215 or 48-215-257 for a business sedan it was popular at the time of release of the FJ to "dress up" the original Holdens with the special stainless from the new Glam |

I may be wrong here but I thought that there was a 48-217 Exectutive available. This thinking goes back to 1984 when Holen released the VK Executive & I worked in a Holden Dealer at the time, someone told me that Executive was a re hashed name from the pr Edited by user Friday, 30 September 2005 9:33:16 PM(UTC)

Hi Les.
The 48-217 is a misnomer by GM-H.
The 48 series Business sedanm is actually typed 48-215-257, on the body plate, as Matt (vintage caravans) has said. But just about every GM-H parts book since the mid '50s has it listed as 48-217, there is n |
