G'day All,

I have searched the archives for all the posts on power steering conversions, and have read over and over again which steering arms are the same (All HQ and HJ - WB manual steering} and which ones are different(HJ -WB power steering) it is dicscussed and re-discussed endlessly and I could recite it drunk! BUT!!!!! NOT ONCE HAS ANYBODY MENTIONED THE MEASUREMENTS OF EITHER!!! how can anybody check which ones they have with no measurements to work off?. PLEASE!!!!! somebody give me a measurement befgore I go ABSOLUTELY BALMY!!! Cheers. Russ.

The measurement I have for the arms that came off of a HJ GTS are as follows. 91mm from centre of front mounting bolt to the centre of the tie rod ball joint hole. This car had the power steering. So unless some one has mucked with it, this should be the

I have to go with what retro64eh says 91mm from hole to hole went to look on hq power and manual box and do ya think I can find one of my 20 or so tape measure that are in box somewhere ather moveing house 9 mouths ago wall no :( OH and I think it go`s al

I think onetonnerman is talking about the Pitman arm on the bottom of the steering box and not the actual steering arms which bolt to the stub axle.

It is the steering arms which need to be changed and not the Pitman arm.

retro64eh is definitely on

Yes sorry Munromad2004 is rigth I was thinking of the pitman arm.
If I agreed with you we`d both be wrong.

I had some time to stop at the wreckers today the size of the munual steering arms from a HZ and WB is around 122mm from centre of front mounting bolt to the centre of the tie rod ball joint hole. From a manual HQ and HJ is the same as retro64eh says 91mm
