I have a VP 5.0 ute and i want to check the condition of the dizzy cap/ rotor button......Any tips on how the hell to get to these items easily????.......It looks like a nightmare but there must be a trick to it??..........appreciate any advice.

It ain't easy!
Only work on it when the engine is cold!
I find laying a few blankets over the engine & layiny over the top the easiest method, then you can see down behind the manifold to what you are doing.

Ha! Just did this today!!
Take the leads off the sparkplugs from one side then that should give you enough room to get the cap off. Since the leads have a unique length it is easy to fit it all back together later. Got the same motor in a HJ so not sur

Thanks mick.......I figured that was probably the only way to do it...Just thought on the off chance, there might have been some little trick to make it easier, .....The only way is the hard way!!!!!

There is only 1 thing worse. The vacuum ports are down there as well. Just try plugging in the vacuum line for the HVAC controls..... I had to do this on a warm motor - never again!
