Im putting a Vn/Vp 5L with a 5 speed manual in a Hx panel van how easy is it for eg. engine brakets, room? anyone got any idea. or done this before and had problems they have had to solve. Also this could be a stupid question but do new commodore mags stud pattern fit the old holden stud pattern on a hx? cheers people

The engine will bolt in just like the original (with the appropriate sump and pick-up).

I'm not sure about the gearbox.

Commodore mags do not fit early Holdens. The stud patterns are different as is the offset. If you want to use Commodore wheels, y

just to back up what dave said, the difference is slight but still different...even if the comm. wheels fit on, DON'T do it, the studs will eventually break...bye bye wheels, hello tree/mum with pram...

to fit commodore mags to early holdens there is an adapter plate you can buy...about $75 each wheel...this also fixes the offset problem..BUT BEWARE...they are illegal in nsw..dunno about other states...

quite possible but i cant comment on other states if i dont know there regulations...i do know that i read they were illegal in nsw as i read it on the rta technical section of there website...
