Folks,
Went to check out an 87 VL 2litre to use as a daily driver over the weekend. HAving checked out the previous threads, I knew of the trick with the dizzy connection. (Sure enough, fired it up, wriggled the connector and it died).
There is some slight rust issues below windscreen and in r/r door pillars, but my main issue is the brakes. The pedal had enormous travel before it did anything, and didn't pump up at all, so not air in lines.
Is this normal with the VL Commies, or is it a sign of some major impending (expensive) disaster.

Definately not normal for any brakes. Could simply be a case of needing a bleed, but how did air get in there in the first place?
I would carefully inspect each caliper (or wheel cylinder for rear drums), the lines, all connections, the master & boost |
Cheers,
