Just a quick question on how to pick a 302 form a 351 without removing the heads??? any and all ideas welcome Cheers Jim.

You can either remove the sump and look at the crank. 302= 3" stroke 351 = 3.5" stroke. You can also use wire down the spark plug hole. Rotate the crank till the piston is at the bottom of it's stroke. Mark the wire. Rotate the crank till the pistons @ th

Depending what model it's from, you should be able to tell from the engine number.

ford, unlike holden and chev, v8 engine numbers for clevelands (made in australia)do not indicate the capacity of the engine as all clevelands are the same block and only Australia manufactured the 302 version.

Hi guys,

2 other things you can check.

1) If the crank is a 4MA or 4MAB you will be able to read the letter by looking down the dizzy hole with a torch. If it's a raised letter crank than you will only see a part number so not going to help most peo
