gday. havin a bit of strife with the choke setup on my quaddy. it came off a vk 5lt that i brought off a bloke at work for $50!!

anyway its on a red 253 and the idle is way to high for the first 15 mins, then it drops down to normal. there is no vaccuum line connected to the arm thingy on the back, and no wires running to that thermal knob thing on the side. any ideas?

vk had a electric coke,what happens is power is ran into a spring which heats up and pulls the coke flap open.When you do not have power to it,it takes 10 to 15mins for the engine to heat the carby which will heat the spring which pulls the coke flap open

Hi Guys.

I think jimmy c, that you are thinking of a Varajet on the 6 cyl. The 4 barrel Rochester Quadrajet on the 5.0 litre V8 has a exhaust heated thermal choke, not an electric one.

its on a 253 using as 2 barrel manifold with adapter plate (will get 4 barrel manifold when i have more cash)

was off a warm 308 so i need to find out how to tune bloody thing. as soon as the secondary's open it floods, and is bit heavy on juice out of
