Theo,
Check with VICROADS.....we have no legal input on a RWC.
Non-GTS has a 20mm front sway and GTS's have 25mm sway. Rears were a GMH option.

your bar is there for steering stability and to control body roll, legal or not would not drive the thing on the road without it!! (front one) say it would be required. Cheers

Actually I understand the sway bar was an option on some HQs, not a standard fitting. I wouldn't be convinced they were essential for every day driving. If your car has one the bushes etc will have to be in good condition but if it doesn't you just say it

I doubt you would have to have the winch but i have heard of the testers rejecting cars without a spare. They argue you would cause problems say on the freeway if you had a flat tyre and no spare and you had to leave the car there. On the other hand my ma

Front sway bars were standard on ALL HQ's. The front suspension is designed to work with a sway bar fitted. Whether it is or isn't a RWC issue, it should be.
In WA, you MUST have a spare tyre with legal tread and ALL tools that came with the car to get

I drove my tonna around for months with no front (or rear) sway bar and frankly it didn't seem to drive any different . but then I don't really throw it around. I have a couple of real thick ones if someone wants one cheap.

Dave they are fronts and about 25mm I think much thicker thasn the standard ones. I was going to fit one on the Q but the mounting holes are too far apart so I am not sure how it was mounted. It came off a HX I wrecked and it never occurred to me to check

Hi John,
Have sent E-mail.
I am away in the Pilbara next week and the Kimberley the week after, then home for a week then off to Darwin for a week....at least I get to live on the Company Credit Card instead of my own while I'm travelling...
