gday i have a eh holden its on the north coast of nsw i want 2 get it back 2 westen nsw.has any 1 done this b4, my eh has no rego .i dont want to tow it on the back of my VY V6 commodore ute 1oookm is a bit 2 far 4 me the ist 300km is pretty hilly n tight. any thoughts would be great jamie

If it drives you can get a temporary permit. I got one years ago to bring a Suzuki back to WA. It costs about $25 and lasts for 48 hours I think. Just renew it at a traffic office if it expires. It gives you third party cover for injuries to people but no

Tell them yopu are bringing it back for registration check. If they won't give you a permit maybe you could go to a examinations office, get it booked in, it will fail, get a temporary permit to drive it back for repairs.

In NSW you can get a 1 way permit. The car needs to be able to get a blue slip - so it must be roadworthy. The cost is around $20-$30.

thanks it needs a bit of work b4 it could go back on road 4 wheel cylinders,radiater and a new muffler stuff i can do myself.have been thinking of ringing toll or some 1 eles n get a qoute 2 ship it back down south

Heh... only two days ago I paid up $750 for an Adelaide-Brisbane transport of a registered car! And I though that was good! Ah well. Still beats the higher end quotes I got (one was $4500).

i used "caraway" transport. it cost me $300, to bring a ht ute from a farm in singleton nsw, to altona, melbourne
