My mate was just wondering if it is possible to hook up a subwoofer to the stock standard VY series stereo.

it is possible but it wont sound all that great or have lots of power.

he will still have to buy an amp to run it.
on most amps, (especially cheap ones) they have what is known as a low pass set up and it uses speaker wires to send the signal to the a

Today i got installed a you bute sony CD player in my VX. A good head unit and a nice little tray under the unit. Replaced the door speakers,6x9 in the parcel shelf with a nice little cover over them. no amp and no sub. its puts out more sound and super

your dead right in the fact that if you buy a good quality head unit and decent speakers you will get good sq. some people may argue that without a sub you wont get decent bass but it comes down to what your happy with.

If you like good quality music across the audio range go JBL's. I have a Sony single din remote unit in the Q, and Sony speakers dont cut it. JBL speakers are great.
