this is a question for a mate of mine..... what would be a good tough diff for a VS 5L ute? Cheers

Hi Duzty.
The diff that's in it now is pretty tough. It's a 28 spline B/W with a 4 pinion centre. A common mod is to go down in the gearing, say to 3.23 or 3.46, improves the take off without loosing too much top end.

haha
basically he is upset coz he sold his auto VT R8 clubby and bought this 99 vs ute, around corners (on private roads ofcoarse) its not LSD, straight line its fine.
he doesnt want something extreme, just something thats better, i suggested a vs c

If the ute's diff isn't LSD, it is either worn out or the ute is a base model as all the S and SS utes had LSD's fitted as standard. My suggestions are: If the diff is worn, get it repaired. If the VS is a base model, find a diff out of an S or SS mode Edited by user Monday, 5 December 2005 4:45:24 AM(UTC)
