i have an XY van i've been doing a ground up build on, it's been sidelined for the last two years and will stay idle now for at least another year or three. MY question is : long ago , i couldn't get desent upper control arm pins so got XF ones that i rebushed with nolethene and stuffed them in ( a little closer to poking through the 10 cent holes in the shock towers ).I just want to know if this is going to work out and since it'll be a while till i get it all together , i was hoping one of you kind dudes could tell me if it's all good or should i go back to XY uppers. (using XB discs). thanks.

Hi - I too am about to fit XB stub axles and disks to an XT and was wondering if they'll be OK. I noted that the critical dimensions were different to a drum brake stub axle and to the XT solid disks which I do not want to use. So if anyone knows for sure

apparently when XF uppers are used, they position the wheel forward in the wheelarch thus limmiting caster adjustment; Looking in a book , i found that a phase 3 used longer coil springs than the others and it says this was to compensate for the fact they

From memory, the XT's had 10½" discs. I put XY 11¼" (from memory) vented discs including stub axles on my XT. With the original XT remote booster only boosting the front brakes, I never had a problem with locking rear brakes again!

The XF arms will work fine on the XY - I have a set on the ZC and had no problems with the wheel alignment

The XF rubber or polyurethane bushes isolate a bit more road noise than the brass bush type the XYs come with

I also think that the arms are i

does your front wheel sit forward in the wheel arch compared to when you had the original uppers in ?

I don't think so

Those XY upper arms could be adjusted fore and aft on the pivot shaft, so if the old ones were adjusted right back to get good caster without some big tyres clipping the bottom front of the wheelarch, it could seem like the arms are ve
