Hi yall, I finally ordered new door belts and bailey channels for my HK as most of the old rubbers have long gone, and the car leaks like a sieve. the bailey channel looks simple enough to replace but as i've never replaced any of these bits before (and while i'm waiting for delivery) i just want to ask for anyone's previous experience in changing the window belts...(the tough rubber strip along the lower edge of the window glass when it's fully raised) is it a hard or an easy job? any tricks i need to know? Thanks guys.

It's a hard job if you don't know kow to do it. You have to drop the glass down in the door. |

if you are doing the quarter vent window rubber the swivel stud must be broken off , rarespares have replacement studs, other wise you will have to cut the rubber.

I have found it is better to remove the rivets that hold the top of the hinge to the frame rather than the pivot rivet. Then the original pivot is retained and the other two new rivets are hidden under the rubber. |

somtimes the old ones can be a real P.I.T.A. to get out, after all those years they seem to almost weld themselves in place. But it is do-able even for the novice, with a bit of patience.
