Can anyone help identify what month my HT Premier was built? I gather it has to be somewhere between May 1969 and July 1970 (when HG Prems were released) but it has no compliance plate.

Here are the numbers:
- Firewall stamp is HT23331.
- GMH plate under bonnet (VIN?) is 81169TH 604630

Other plate has:
- Model: 81169TR
- Body: 2047-H5
- Trim: 1179-11R
- Paint: 567-10974

It has a 186 & trimatic but I think it's a recon motor (engine number starts with 186A) & it's running LPG. It was previously registered in Canberra as a January 1969 but since that isn't possible I think it was someone's best guess (or they just pick January when there is no comliance plate).

If anyone can help me work out what month & year this is I'd appreciate it. I'll post some photos when it's on the road (very shortly I hope).

Thanks.

Hi Wayne.

The fact it has no Compliance plate indicates that it is 1969 production, the 1st Complianace plates were fitted 1st Jan 1970.

The body numbers says that is the 2047th 6cyl Premier sedan to come out of the Pagewood (Sydney) assembly plant.
If at first you don't succeed, just call it Version 1.0

Thanks Doc.

A quick check of the steering box shows only the number 1309 (might be 13C9?). There are a lot of non-original parts on the car so maybe the steering box is one of them.

I appreciate your info.

Cheers

Byron, you helped me decipher my HK's build date (steering coloumn 4L8) and told me L=november... but L is the 12th letter of the alphabet. is november still correct or should L=12, december?

Thanks guys. RTA have finally registered it as 1/1969 because if there is no compliance they always put it as January. Took 6 months work (& more money than I'd expected - nothing new there I'm sure!!!) to get it registered but hopefully now I can work on
