Gday to all
Happy New year
Just wondering on what course of action to take. I have taken my front nose cone back to bare metal, rest of car will be done. All the dings have been knocked out and i am going to epoxy etch prime it, but i was wondering what to do with all the smaller stone chips and deeper scratches . Will the high fill take care of these or do i need to fix or rectify it before i etch prime it?
Thanks in advance for help and advice

Best thing to do is take the whole car to bare metal if you want it really good. The other alternative, which is not the best way is to put fine fill putty in the chips. It is a really fine filler available from paint shops. You can even get it in a tube.
If it is old or rare - Cut it! http://www.ehlimo.com.au/

Gday. Thanks for the reply. I am going to be getting the rest of the car back to bare metal. I am still a little unsure as I am talking about stone chips and scratches in the bare metal and not the paint. Do I fill these with fine fill putty before i etch

I try to avoid hi-fill, as it is simply adding thickness to the paint, which is undesireable.

I prefer to undercoat it, then fill all nicks & spots with "Duco" "Quick stop" putty - which is a very fine single part filler you can get in a tin or a littl
Cheers,

Mick
