After spending almost all the weekend in Doctor's Surgeries and Swan Distrcits Hospital with the missus, I finally got to look at the boat late this afternoon.

Murphy's Law came into play...the one that says "Before you can do anything, something else must be done first!"

As I was sweeping the accumulated dust and leaves out of the cab, I disturbed some Hornets that had made a couple of nests in there. I now have a very swollen and sore ring finger upper knuckle on my right hand...but they paid the ultimate price for messing with a man with a can of Pea-Beau Surface Spray...

I also have to replace the mounts for 5 of the 6 pulleys near the transom for the steering wire as the rivets are VERY fragile and 2 have fallen off...at least it is not hard to do. Ah, the pleasures of owning an old boat...

I then had a look at the trailer's axle and U-bolts after I remembered that some low-life stole 4 of the wheel nuts when I last took it to the boat-ramp and I lost the left wheel on the way home. The axle is quite rusted and the U-bolts are rusted about ½ way through....better replace them me thinks.

Not a great weekend overall.....

Before I go out and buy a new axle and U-bolts, any of the Perth guys have a trailer axle that they want to sell? It needs to be about 1600 mm long and suit HK/T/G Holden hubs/bearings.

Failing that, anyone have any contacts in the trailer bits industry in Perth?

Cheers...Dave
