Hi

I am in need of a new sump as the old one is looking a bit sorry for itself.

Is it worth getting a high volume sump or is the standard just fine. The engine has a bit of work done to it and is runnning a high volume oil pump.

Cheers

Hi Scruff,

Personally, unless you are racing the vehicle or driving at high speed in VERY hot temperatures or very dusty climates, I don't reckon that high volumes sumps are worth what they cost.

Hi Ashley,

I have lived in the hills behind Perth for most of my life. After a marriage bust-up, I ended up in Mt Lawley and East Perth for a couple of years. I couldn't wait to get back to the hills which I did by buying in Greenmount a few years ago.

I fitted a high energy sump to LH 308 torana and it held just on 6 litres and dip stick was ok.

if it ain't broke we can improve it.

Cheers Steve
