Hi Prob a dum question but I have rigged up my own killswitch basically I have bypassed the positive wire that runs to the coil, and have run that to toggle switch then another wire back to the coil to complete the circut. I did this as when I put the toggle to off I get no power to the coil and cant start it ie Killswitch. Ok The question I have is I have an led light and I want it to come on when I turn the switch to off and cut power to the coil, the only way I can get it to come on at the moment is only when the switch is on as that is when there is power going to the coil I hope I aint confused too many I have had some beers

simple. put led across both pins on the toggle. so when off it gets power on one leg and completes the circuit via the coil. there's more than enough low resistance via the coil to make it glow. And once in the on position there is no volt drop so led wil

Yes crowe is correct,
you will need to wire the LED in parallel, as opposed to in series, also important - LED's are polarity dependent, so the leg that is longest is the power in side.

I tried that and the led just stayed on all the time one switch on the toggle always has power and I have grounded the other wire on the led to earth so there is always power to it so it stays on do you mean having the power wire on the led to both connec

Best form of kill switch in my opinion is the foot operated high/low headlight switch. Most crooks will look for a toggle switch or similar, and disregard the obvious. You could even mount one further up the firewall so it's out of sight, but still easy e

Hi
For your led light you could wire in a relay so that the led is not powered up with ignition on and when you switch ignition off the relay would power led.

if it ain't broke we can improve it.

Cheers Steve

You'll find there's enough residual ground in an ignition circuit so that you can wire the anode (+) side of the LED to a battery + supply, and the cathode (neg) side of the LED onto any number of accessory or ignition circuits.

Once the ignition is of
