looking to solve the same problem and found your post. have taken to a gas specialist who said one of the valves in the converter was bent. charged about 80 bucks to fix, but problem returned after approx. 5 days. took it back, and same result. car runs beautifully when warm, but will not idle smoothly for at least 5 mins after starting from cold. bloody frustrating, not sure what to do!!!

i have the same problem from time to time mine caused by the converter freezing up once the water starts to warm up the car runs fine check it out cheers

I HAVE FORD 302 ON GAS IT WONT START COLD UNLESS I TIP HOT WATER ON CONVERTER THEN IT STARTS FIRST GO HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT GAS CONTAINS BITUMEN AND AFTER A TIME IT CAUSES VALVE TO BECOME STUCK SHUT HOT WATER FREES IT UP THEN IT RUNS GOOD ALL DAY CONVERTER
