G'day Guys,

This is my first post, but ive been visiting this site for a while now.

Basically, my passenger door will align properly when closed sometimes, yet othertimes it will be about 10 - 20 mm ajar.

Its been doing this since I first got it.

The other day I took the doors off to drill holes and run wiring into them for central locking, after spending an hour re-fitting and re-aligning the door, it still does the same thing, and its driving me nuts as it rattles when i drive with it like that. (drivers side is fine)

Im assuming its something to do with the door catch pin thing, but all my fiddling hasnt helped.

Anyone have any tips / Tricks?? gonna launch a full-on assault at it tomorrow.....

Is the cylindrical striker on the door jamb tight?
Have you tried moving it inboard a little.

How are your hinges. With the doof open a bit can you lift the rear of the door up and down much?

Is the door catch (in the door) nice and secure?

It

Thanks Guys, I'll prob just have to spend a couple of hours on it fiddling with the striker, is there an easy way to fit doors before I waste my time?

Was trying a method of undoing the striker a bit, closing the door (still ajar) and trying to force i

BTW what kind of tool do you use to tighten the striker? Ive been using a socket on one side, and an oil filter type device on the other to grab the shaft, but i dont think its strong enough.

The socket could be a big Torx fitting, but looks like a cro

Guys, I circled the door striker with magic marker, and the other day it closed properly.
From looking at the magic marker I could see that the striker had moved AWAY from the car (i.e towards the door).

This doesnt seem to make sense, as you'd think

I use the marker pen and mark around the stricker washer and on the corners of the door hinges, that way you know where they are to return to, then just wipe with wax & grease remover when the jobs done.
The torx fitting is a number T-50, cost aprox $10.
