hi all...

my ed fairmont drives great on the highway, however when over taking or acclerating up hill it starts to miss -like a hic-cupping.
it seems to be when the car is put under load.
it also does it when its at idle. all other times it seems to drive perfect.

any ideas would be much appreciated
cheers

Replace the leads inc coil lead. Maybe the rotor button and dizzy cap while your there. Can't remember whether ED is coil pack or dizzy.

I had the same problem with my EB fairmont Ghia, and it turned out to be a break on one of the leads, at adle and under load it would miss fire, but at cruzing it was fine.

I had the same problem, i replaced the leads, dizzy cap and rotor but still had issues. It turned out to be the coil. They develop small stress fractures from the heat of the engine. Once replaced the car ran like new.
