Hi guys
i put the front of my hq back together and my bonnet sits up too high at the windscreen end (about 12mm too high). The brackets are at the bottom end of the adjustment and it wont go any lower.

Also, i have 15" weld wheels on it, and on the front when i do a full lock turn, the outer part of the tyre hits the bottom of the guard near the fron stone tray end.......what can i do!!!!!!

cheers

You mean the brackets on the bonnet hinges?Usually they go down far enough. Just loosen the bolts enough to still hold the position, shut the bonnet, and give the bonnet a couple of good shoves down right above the rear part of the hinges.

Phil, I found on the HT that the front adjustment bolt needs to be moved up a little, which in turn moved the rear part down( on an angle). It was the opposit to what I thought, but it worked for me..

Adjusting it will help, as will a drop or two of light oil on the pivot pins.
If it is old or rare - Cut it! http://www.ehlimo.com.au/

I had the exact same problem with my HZ Kingswood. This is how you fix it.
You have to unbolt the brackets from the bonnet and car. Then take the bonnet and mark out on the bolt holes how much you'll need to take of for it to sit flat then get out the fi

Max,

Nah Nah ! Not in my case. I can walk up to it, press down and it aligns. But open the bonnet, close it and its out of whack again.

Also I cant file off about 5mms off the bonnet. Theyll be nothing left !
