just want to confirm whether the gen III v8 has 6 bolt mains? 4 through the cap and 2 through the sides? Plus whats the difference between hsv gts heads and stock gen III heads? and what gearbox is used standard behind them?

yes, it is 6 bolt.
I cant tell you if the heads are different but i would say they are identical.
gearboxes are 4L60E (auto) and T56 (manual).

Really, 6 bolt? I'm not arguing it because I'm not sure if it's been changed, but I looked at a cut down one at the Sydney motor show and it was only 2 bolt mains. Has it been revised?

what year motor show? cause i've heard it's 4 through the bottom and 2 through the sides!!!

Did you know the gen III was in the 1985 corvette over in the states. with double overhead cams. my dads got a old mag from over there is got an advert.
