Hi guys just woundered if any of you have fitted a 308 in the a Jay an any problems fitting one, rather than a V6 with computer an all, is it worth putting a 308 in it, fishing for some ideas

In some states it cannot be done due to the overall increase in capacity in engine size from original.
Before you get too excited, ring your rego authorities.

Rod hadfield now resides in the states! :)) Its now some new guy, Still the same gear but. I read an article some years ago about this conversion. And the 308 was in some states was to big in cubic capacity. Instead using the 302 ford motor!........... Edited by user Saturday, 18 February 2006 8:33:10 AM(UTC)

I think I can remember a QLD FJ where the owner put the shell on a Chev Luv ute chassis (very close in size for easy conversion) and by making this a full chassis vehicle allowed him to run any engine of his choice. By memory he decided on a Ford 351 and

ford motors are good for tight conversions, i belive they are the narrowest of all the small blocks, which is good for header clearance and things like that. i've heard of a few LJ's with clevo's in them
