Just a question about the Hq Statesman....did they ever come out with a 350 chev motor as i have spotted one in a car yard and they are saying thats its an original.....i thought they only come out with the Monaro's

Absolutely YES. And they are quite rare and becoming collectible.

If it's a 1973 the BODY plate will say L30 under ENG and M41 under TRANS. The VIN plate will also read U in the 5th digit (after 8S69) If it's a '72 or '71 send me the VIN number and i'll find out for you if it was a 350 or not.

I had a mate a few years back who had one. Claimed it was Gen, Had me buggerd. So yeah, looks to be true LOL.

Looks like yours might be one of those HQ Chevrolet export models. There used to be 4 of these at least around Canberra. 1 Green (used to work on this one as an apprentice & saw it just the other day still going but not much rattier than it was 22 years a
