G'day all, Yesterday I took my rear drums to a brake shop to get machined ( they "pulse" like they are out of round when braking) for my HR (HT disc on the front) and the brake mech. said they where front drums. The front shoes being wider than the back the previous owner must've done a front to rear swap he said. The drums have also been rubbing on the backing plate because of the width of them. So I was thinking of going to the (do it yourself) wreckers and sourcing the parts to go back to the standard rear brakes. Researching through previous posts I saw that UC rear brakes are a straight swap. Does anyone know if there is any great difference between them or could recommend a similar, easy,"straight swap" ? Any input would be appreciated. Thanks, Steve.
It's not a bloody Sandman ...... It's a HR Van !!!!

hrpv66.
I assume from your name the car is an HR panel van.
HD/HR panel vans & utes use the same 2 1/4" wide drums as the front. Your brake mechanic might not be all that knowledgable about HR commercials.
Sedans & wagons have the normal narrower |
If at first you don't succeed, just call it Version 1.0 |
