Hi guys just a quiry about transbrakes and how they work???wats the price of these iteams??roughly

They generally work by locking the trans in 1st & reverse at rhe same time (by modifying the fluid paths within the box), and when you release it, it merely drops revese back out of gear & it powers off in 1st.

If you are talking about manual ones the Landrover has them and also the early Dodges/Chrysler products. I would imagine they are on other vehicles as well. They work by having a large brake band lined with brake lining stuff it wrapls around a drum on th

Also the one in autos isn't that just a spur that jams the gears? Like putting a bar in the spokes of a bicycle and about as good at wrecking the transmission if you use it when moving at any speed.

They are no big deal just a drum on the back of the gearbox like a big pulley and a brake mechanism. I have a vague feeling some of the Landcruisers had them too.
