hey guys.i got a xd fairmont ghia with eletric windows and both the front windows motors are playing up.so i need to replace both motors.can they be bought brand new at all?or is it a case of a wreckers .if can get them new,is it only xd xe 1s i coudl get?or is it a case of many fords use these motors?obviously left and right being different..
any help appreciated

XFs and all the Fairlanes should fit too. What exactly are your winder motors doing? Sometimes it's just the cog inside the motor that is worn out and you can get replacement ones.

think the motors are fine,when its off the reg the window the cog spins but under pressure it wont.pulled that bit spart and the white plastic bit thats under it seems to be worn up a bit.
what it does is nothing,u here it working but window wouldnt go

I'm pretty sure there is a repair kit to fix that problem. There was a guy selling them on ebay a while back though there is nothing there at the moment. Give Ford and maybe even rare spares a call. I don't think it will be all that expensive to fix.
