Hi everyone,
How good at making power are the xflow motors out of a xc.Have an xcgs which is suppose to have the high compression ratio 250 xflow seems to go ok though nothing special. The data sheets show 92kw but the xb 250 has 116kw? To make some power do i need to fit a 250 2v head or something.Any thoughts

Cheers

a 250 2v head will not fit.there a good motor and go well when you put a holley/maaifold nd extractors/exhaust on them.i have and have owned heaps of cortina's and my quickest 1 has an iron head so they can go well

Hi
your best bet would be to fit an alloy E2 head off a fuel injected xf they had slightly larger valves and you can run the 2 barrel weber, you will remove a lot of weight from the engine also.

if it ain't broke we can improve it.

i put a alloy head on my cast iron motor and it cracked every cylinder between the valves.cast iron motors have a very small dish in the pistin where the alloys have a much larger piston dish.i know you must use the head gasket to suit which ever head you

Bro I had a 250 in an xc it was a recoed block though untouched, I had triple webers 45's and an alloy head port matched to inlet and exhaust manifolds( genie extractors) with a stage 5 heatseeker cam don't remember specs. Webers were a bit over the top b
