Hi, I have a RED 253 that has been reconditioned not to0 long ago. The engine has come out of ute I wrecked, I was going to use this engine in a project but due to wanting to run a Turbo gearbox I had to get a 308 turbo block. Now here is what I have
253 SHORT MOTOR. THE BLOCK HAS BEEN BORED 20 THOU and the crank has been ground, the cam and lifters had also been replaced as they are fine, I drove the car before removing engine, no tappet noise!THE BLOCK IS VERY CLEAN, WITH BRASS CORE PLUGS FITTED.
THE TOPS OF THE PISTONS HAVE CLEANED UP and look NEW, THE BLOCK DECKS HAVE ALSO BEEN MACHINED, THERE IS HONE MARKS PRESENT IN THE BORES. I WOULD SAY THIS ENGINE MAY HAVE DONE NO MORE THAN 20,000 KS.!!! I HAVE REMOVED THE HEADS AND I AM KEEPING THEM FOR MY 308 AS THEY TOO HAVE BEEN RECO.
I WILL THROW IN A SET OF HZ HEADS AND A 4 BARREL INLET MANIFOLD, THESE NEED RECONDITIONING.
I AM LOOKING AT $500 , THIS IS CHEAP AS CHIPS AS MY 308 BLOCK IS GOING TO COST $1500 FOR A STANDARD, BORE HONE, NEW PISTONS ETC ETC.
IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO LOOK AT THE ENGINE AND WHAT I HAVE CALL ME ON 0411332664 OR EMAIL AT [email protected] I will also throw in a fuel pump, good starter motor and good water pump, alternator and brackets, crank pulleys fan and spacers etc (basically no carby no dizzy) of course the engine has a sump pick up etc fitted,
