hey,
problem with starting my 253 vh. i have recently replaced the ring gear, which i thought was the problem. about 6 months ago i replaced the starter with a high torque starter (like the new holdnes have), and i still can't get my car to start every time. it makes a simple single click, and nothing else happens. the volt meter does drop when you turn the key, so it seems it is drawing power, however, the starter doesnt seem to turn over, or even start to. any tips hints. i am not too sure whether the starter is not disengaging, or is isnt engaging in the first pladce, any help would be fantastic, otherwise its off to the auto elecs, and ill have to take my cheque book. Is it a 'red' motor block, ie has the original blue block been changed at some stage? There is an incompatability issue with red motor starters and blue and later. Not sure of the exact details though.
