Well guys.... It's official! I have the UC back, with the 350 Holley on it still, and while its not the most horsepower, its certainly a good result in anyone's speak! The average of the three runs was 96.3rwkW (about 130HP in old speak), and the highest of the three runs was 101.2rwkW, so roughly 135HP!! Here's the average run printout! It unfortunately doesnt say what rpm its at, but he said he took it up to about 6500rpm, max HP was at 5800rpm, so im pleased about that! But the better news is that there is no longer a flat spot in the carby... He bored out the metering block, fitted 3 times larger jets and replaced the accelerator pump, after fiddling around and setting the timing to 9deg btdc, it was all peachy! Gimme your thoughts guys! That's a good result Keith, well done.
I still reckon you'd pick up torque, drivability and power with a 465... :-)

The triples are still a bit away, i'm gonna sit on the 350Holley for a bit, then see where the wind takes me!

Hi Keith, Many moons ago, I swapped a 465 for triple 1¾" Su's on a 186 with similar specs to yours in an LJ Torana. Something to look out for eh! The wallet doesnt bother me too much, although i dont want to be replacing spark plugs too often...
It'll be a while yet before the triples go on!

I don't see why the fuel consumption would increase dramatically given the same style of driving. I accept that it did, but when you think about it whether it has the fuel coming through 1 2 or 3 throats the capacity of the cylinders to swallow it has not

I would agree with you John, but when sitting on 110 using the cruise control, it returned noticably worse economy. Others have reported better economy from SU carbs....guess you can be lucky and I was unlucky...really dunno mate.
