Hi guys, the trusty VP let me down for the first time today. Went to start it, NOTHING. turns over no worries but wont go. Turns out it was the security system not turning off. When I bought the car I wasnt given the key to over ride this system. (passenger door jamb) Anyways we got it running by disconnecting the battery and that seemed to rest it.
BUT my question is, I want to over ride this system permanently. I want to drill out the key lock in the door jamb and join the whire together to stop this system working. Does anyone know what wires I have to join together to achieve this???
Thanks

Why don't you ring holden & ask where you can get a new ZADI key from?
BTW VP's immobiliser is a Mongoose so you could go to your local Mongoose installer. |

Not sure if there is a coded resistor within the lock itself or not but if there isnt, and you can't get ahold of a new key, you could try taking the passenger kick panel off and unclipping the ECU to get to the wires behind it. I'd assume it'd just be tw

Thanks guys. I will check the mongoose angle. But I have been let down in the past with previous VPs with this system. There is nothing worse than being stuck miles from home in the middle of the night with a car that wont start. So I really want to

I guess that if the Mongoose installer cant help & you cant get the ZADI key (that is what the disable key is called) from them or Holden. You could go to a wrecker & get a second hand lock & key & either fit the lock or meter it out & join/disconnect the |

Just a quick message, Why it was reset after the battery being disconnected could be a build up or a just enought to have a faulty connection reconnect with the right amount of current.
